About Henry Spencer.
I was born in the Amazon jungle in southern Ecuador. It's a twenty day walk to the next small village that has a road and electricity. I was raised by my grandfather, who told me stories every night. I believe that his stories and the magical rain forest that surrounded me inspired me to write songs and poems.
I have composed songs since I can remember and began writing poetry at the age of fifteen. I published my first book of poetry, Pajaros Errantes, when I was nineteen. After that, I released my first music CD, La Vida es Asi. I now present to you my new book, Olor a Selva (Scent of the Jungle).
I am currently working on my next music CD and I will make it available as soon as production is complete.
On a more personal note, I am the proud father of a beautiful daughter, and I split time between Ecuador and the blue skies of Arizona, USA.
Sobre Henry Spencer.
Nací en la selva Amazónica, al sur del Ecuador, en Zamora; a seis horas a mula del pueblo de Zumba, en Yuayanche. Allí cercí con mi abuelo materno.
En esos tiempos, se hací a como 20 dias caminando hasta Yangana, pueblo hasta donde llegaba la carretera.
Mi abuelo era un buen hombre que le encantaba contar cuentos. Asi, cada dia, antes de dormir me relataba las mas fascinates historias que he escuchado. Pienso que esto y la incredible naturaleza donde viví , influyeron en mí para componer y escribir.
Compongo canciones desde que tengo memoria y poemas desde los quince.
Publiqué mi primer libro de poesía PAJAROS ERRANTES a la edad de 19. Luego de eso salió mi primer Cd de música LA VIDA ES ASI.
Hoy les presento mi mas reciente libro OLOR A SELVA y estoy trabajando en mi Nuevo álbum musical.
Mas que esto, tengo una hija que es mi adoración, amo la vida tanto como la selva, y vivo entre Ecuador y los cielos azules del Arizona, USA. |
